We’re taking over Espace Vanhomwegen for ten days. During that time, we’ll be working, building our own boards, refining our creations, and getting everything ready for the exhibition. When we open, you’ll see the results: a full collection of limited-edition boards, each one reflecting a different artistic voice from our collective.
But we don’t stop there. Throughout the opening hours of the exhibition, you’re invited to come in, grab a blank board, and customise it yourself. Paint, Posca markers, all materials are provided. No experience needed. Just bring your energy. Then comes thefinissage on 22 May. That’s when every board, ours and yours, goes up on the walls. Side by side. A whole gallery of skateboards made by professionals, beginners, and everyone in between. Because that’s the point: creation is not a closed club.
Why Espace Vanhomwegen? Because we’re on the same page ! Espace Vanhomwegen is a place of experimentation and artistic freedom, where artists have the opportunity to work outside of institutional frameworks. It cultivates and sustains collaboration between diverse artistic disciplines and practices, encourages cultural exchange, and provides a space where art can engage in a dialogue with a wide audience.
Community comes first, and we’re here to blur the line between “professional artist” and “someone who just picked up a brush.” Skate culture doesn’t belong to a few. It belongs to everyone.LONG LIVE SKATE CULTURE !!!
The opening night of ‘Welcome on Board’ will be warm, cosy, and full of good food from local partners. The finissage? That’s boards on every wall, live music from our own musicians, and a DJ set to close it all down.
